Wine & Streetfood

On February 15, 2025, the moment had finally arrived:

in the cozy atmosphere of the Holzhütt’n on the Seggauberg, we hosted a very special event — an afternoon dedicated to natural wine and creative street food.


From 1 PM onward, the venue quickly filled with curious wine lovers and food enthusiasts eager to embark on a culinary journey. Together with Karl Schnabel, a true pioneer of the natural-wine scene, and Harald Gärtner, a passionate newcomer who shares the same philosophy, we offered an exclusive wine tasting. Straight from the Sausal region, the two winemakers presented their finest wines, paired with a diverse selection of refined street-food creations.


The team of Martin Azzu (Holzhütt’n & Meat Atelier) and mizu-san crafted a culinary experience that blended Asian flavors with Styrian cuisine in a truly unique way:


Wine & Streetfood

Amuse: Iberico house sausage, Verhackertes, miso–nori butter and homemade bread, served with dashi and a delicate fish jelly.


1st Course: Crispy rice with BBQ goose, radish, arugula and spicy mayo, perfectly paired with Kaarriegel “Alte Reben”2020.


2nd Course: Fried cheddar-cheese potato slice with sweet potato, radish and parsley, matched with Schnabel “Jung, wild & frei” 2022.


3rd Course: Pulled pork taco with Asian slaw and pumpkin, accompanied by Sauvignon Blanc “Legionär” 2021.


4th Course: Fresh bratwurst with curry, homemade toast and parsley, served with “Weiss” Kaarriegel 2022.


Dessert: A perfect finale — tonka bean waffle with matcha, pumpkin, plum, churros and grapefruit ice cream, beautifully complemented by Schnabel “Rotburger” 2021.


The atmosphere was relaxed, warm and full of enthusiasm — a true celebration for the senses. The combination of natural, characterful wines and creative dishes created unforgettable flavor moments.
